ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
I offer services in English.
The client concerns I support are Anxiety, Performance Anxiety, Anger Management, Emotion Regulation, Stress, Depression, Trauma, Emotional/Physical/ Sexual Abuse and/or Neglect, Grief, Life transitions, Relationship/Couples Issues, Men’s issues, Women’s issues, and Self-worth.
In couples counselling, I often work with communication issues, conflict management, intimacy issues, and more.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology. In addition to providing psychotherapy services, I work as a Youth Advisor in a Homeless Shelter where I provide unconditional love, respect, and support to at-risk youth.
In my practice, I use a holistic approach to assist you in rediscovering your true self by investigating the connection between the mind, body, and soul. I truly believe clients to be the experts of their own stories and that each issue is unique to the individual experiencing it. It is easy to pathologize our issues these days with mental health terms and diagnoses becoming a normalized part of our vocabulary. My role is to facilitate you in recognizing that you are capable, resilient, and resourceful, empowering you by using existing strengths to improve your overall well-being.
With couples, I specialize in helping couples navigate the complexities of their relationships to build stronger, more fulfilling connections. With a compassionate approach and a deep understanding of the emotional landscapes that define our closest bonds, I strive to offer a safe and supportive space for partners to explore and address their feelings, concerns, and aspirations. Leveraging the principles of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), I guide couples through a process of deep emotional engagement and expression, fostering a renewed sense of closeness and understanding. I also incorporate the Gottman Method in my couples’ sessions as it equips them with practical tools and strategies to manage conflict, enhance communication, and deepen intimacy.
My approach to treatment is tailored to the individual and the presenting concern. I describe my work to be holistic, integrative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, practicing from many modalities such as Humanistic theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, Mindfulness, and more.
