What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy involves an online licensed therapist and a person engaging in the process of psychotherapy. At Evergreen Therapeutics, our team works with individuals such as teens, adults, and seniors.

This type of therapy provides the opportunity for individuals to connect their mind, body, and soul, and explore their internal world without the influence of external people and stress. Each therapist at Evergreen provides support for a wide range of mental health concerns.

“One-on-One Support for Real Change.”

    Our Treatment Approach

At Evergreen Therapeutics, we take an integrative approach to therapy—meaning we tailor treatment to fit you, not the other way around. By blending proven methods like CBT (to help manage thoughts and behaviors), IFS (to explore and heal inner parts of yourself), and other evidence-based tools, we support your growth from multiple angles—emotionally, mentally, and even physically—so you can feel more balanced, understood, and empowered in your everyday life.

This is a short list of some of the evidence-based therapy modalities that our therapists pull from.

    Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you see how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. By noticing unhelpful patterns and practicing new ways of thinking and coping, you can feel better and make lasting changes.

Best for anxiety, depression, phobias, stress, and unhelpful thought patterns.

    Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment. It can help reduce stress, increase calm, and bring more clarity to daily life.

Helpful when working with stress reduction, anxiety, depression, and overall well-being.

    Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches practical skills to manage emotions, handle stress, improve relationships, and stay present. It’s especially helpful if big feelings or strong reactions feel hard to control.

Helpful for intense emotions, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, borderline personality disorder, and relationship difficulties.

    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps the brain process and heal from difficult or traumatic experiences. By using guided eye movements or similar techniques, EMDR reduces the emotional distress tied to painful memories so you can move forward with greater ease.

Designed for trauma, PTSD, and distressing memories.

    Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and heal the different “parts” of yourself—like the protective, critical, or hurt parts—so they can work together in a healthier way. This creates more self-compassion, balance, and inner peace.

Useful for trauma, inner conflict, self-criticism, and building self-compassion.

    Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care is an approach that understands how past difficult or painful experiences can affect your present life. It focuses on creating a safe, supportive space where healing can happen at your pace.

A supportive foundation for anyone with a history of trauma, ensuring safety and trust while addressing issues like anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles.
